Christmas to me is a magical time of year - even now as a fully grown adult I still feel the same excitement as when I was a child. Inspiration came from my model Christmas Village collection, where my favourite piece has always been a small and detailed Christmas shop.  That, along with my German grandmother's influence gave me the name of “The Tannenbaum Christmas Barn” (Tannenbaum meaning Pine tree or Christmas tree in German).

Another reason for setting up the barn was that I have forever been a lover of all things creative, appreciating the skill and workmanship that can go into each item. Opening the Barn gave me the pleasure of enjoying and selling other people's creative pieces in a festive atmosphere.

Here, those many talented crafters who spend their hours stitching, painting, carving , knitting and potting but have little time or energy left to actually sell, can have an outlet for their creations and shoppers can enjoy the wonderful products our region has to offer.
