This metal festive wording is £6.99 in the Tannenbaum Barn. Whereas today I saw it at another shop for £11.99. I often get asked if we have a January sale but we keep our prices low right from the start. There are always bargains to be had here. No need to wait for January!

The Barn is almost ready for opening this coming Saturday. Its bursting at the seams this year. 2016 is the Tannenbaum Barn's fifth anniversary so we wanted to make the shop look more beautful than ever. It's also taken almost twice as long for two of us to set up! Here are a couple of preview shots.
New skiers on the slope about to ski into the re-designed Christmas village. I just need to make some slalom poles now. The Barn is fully spruced up and ready for set up this coming weekend. Its one of our favourite times here. Very busy but a lot of fun! - Opening on Saturday 1st October.
The Barn opens again on Saturday 1st October. Only 3 weeks to go!
At last!. I've finally found the new village pieces I bought 8 months ago. I spent today setting up the village with the new pieces, new snow and a new layout. Next comes the boring part - wiring it all in.....
The miniature victorian village in the shop is getting a revamp this year. Mainly because I cut a huge hole in the snow cloth whilst making a pinboard for the house. I bought a couple of new pieces for the village at the beginning of the year. Now I just need to find where I put them all those months ago.....
A huge Thank you to all our Customers and craft makers for another great season. I'm glad to say the business is heading in the right direction but as always each year we look to improve, so feel free to offer suggestions or ideas.
We had a lovely visit from the children of the local school in early December to come and choose their tree, afterwards I received a huge envelope of Thank you cards from them. The photo shows them on display in the shop. Best Wishes to all for the year ahead - Sophie Peter and Frances Grant at the Hestan Isle Press make rather special handmade books. They are letterpress printed on the Hand-press from individual letters of metal type, and all are signed limited editions.
Some are Miniature Books, some larger, some are illustrated by Frances Grant (who also designs the slip-cases), and all are hand-bound using artificial leathers, book-cloths, and interesting papers. Books Worth Keeping! The books are bought by collectors all over Britain, America, Canada and Europe. My personal favourite is the THE WANDERER. A translation by Peter and Frances Grant of the familiar Anglo-Saxon poem. Letterpress printed in three colours. Cover and Title page decoration by Frances Grant. Limited edition of 30 copies. Handmade bottle carriers in reclaimed pine, stained and waxed. The beer carrier also has a cast iron bottle opener attached.
An Ideal gift for those who are hard to buy for or to take if you're visiting family or friend over Christmas. You could even fill it with local beers from our neighbour - Baythorne Hall Wine shop www.baythornehall.co.uk Garlands are indespensible at Christmas time with so many ways to use them. Here is a handmade felted garland sprucing up a plain lightfitting, and a dainty crochet snowflake one draped over antlers.
