I recently caught a would-be shoplifter red handed. He was sneaking his head round the door of the shop in an attempt to steal a yummy treat from the handmade dog blanket and pet stockings in the pets corner. His name is Malum, a border collie who comes to stay. He's a lovely dog but he has a lifetime ban from the shop!

Setting aside areas in the garden for Fairies seems very popular right now with adults and children alike. We have a good selection of these handmade fairy houses available in the shop, suitable for outdoor use. If you want ideas for how to make a fairy garden there are some very creative ones online, or feel free to come and look at ours!
If the thought of Christmas doesn't excite you yet, remember we have plenty of Non-Christmas items too. How about a nice treat for yourself? Take a look at these fantastic handmade handbags, made from genuine vintage fabrics and silk scarfs, whats more they are reversible so you get 2 looks for the price of one! They have many uses and would also look great to store knitting or sewing projects.
Wonderful opening weekend with glorious weather. Its really good to see so many regular customers and to meet many new ones too. Re-pointing of brickwork and floor painting complete, ready for shop set up this weekend. Only 11 days until we open again!
For all Craft makers - Shop set up will take place on the 26/27th September, so if you can get items too me prior to this date then that will be very useful.
Please drop me an email to arrange time/dates etc. Sale or return forms have now been emailed out to all confirmed craft makers. If you think you should have received one but haven't then please let me know, just in case I have incorrect email addresses or similar. Not long to go now! Two new sets of these spot lights ready to be installed at either end of the shop. We thought the lighting needed a little extra boost in some areas. I just need to wait for the floor paint to dry - But that takes a week!
I have never found a more infuriating piece of machinery than a pricing gun!! I am in constant battle with it and its now been hurled into the bin. All this means that stock is starting to arrive, and the list of makers is filling. If you plan to display with us this coming season and have not yet been in touch, do drop me a email. SOR forms will be emailed out in August time.
We have our work cut out over the next few weeks with more maintenance to the barn. Extra foot-fall during tree selling period last year certainly took its toll on the floor in both rooms. So another layer of floor paint in one area and re-pointing of the lovely brickwork floor in the other is required to get the shop looking fresh again for the upcoming season.
The collection tin for the Remus Memorial Horse Sanctuary that we had raised £56.37 last season. Which was a lovely surprise. Much of this was from the Christmas tree customers donating their 50p change. Thank you to all.
